Edwardsburg Uptown Improvement Paddle Auction

The Edwardsburg Uptown Improvement Association will be holding their Quarter Paddle Auction on April 13, 2019 from 2-5 at the Edwardsburg Legion.  Doors will open at 1:30 pm with the food special a burger served by the American Legion for $3.

What is a paddle auction? It is a cross between bingo and a silent auction and is often called a quarter auction. You will purchase a paddle with a number attached to to the paddle. As the gifts are presented you have an opportunity to bid on the items with your quarters. Once the bids are closed for that item a number corresponding with the numbers on the paddle will be drawn. The paddle with the winning number wins the gift. It is great fun so bring lots of quarters.

All charity items, ticket sales and possible silent auctions go toward Edwardsburg Uptown Improvements Association Christmas Decoration Project.

Are you unable to attend?  An absentee ticket is available for purchase for $50.  These tickets will be used for bids on all 100 + items.

Advance tickets are $5 for entry and paddle.  At the door additional paddles can be purchased for $5.

For more information contact: Dawn Bolock at 574-220-1249 or Meryl Christensen at 269-663-2347.

Looking forward to seeing you on April 13.!!!

Battle of the Brewers

Battle of the Brewers

  • Round Barn Brewery and Public House (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

The Battle is back! We’ve got six brewers waiting in the wings that are thirsty for victory… and beer, but that’s beside the point. Does anyone have the chops to take down reigning champs Jack Meyers and the Public House team or is the home-pub advantage truly a force to be reckoned with?

There are 17 teams looking to pull their small-batch beer from the taps and send it into the record books. Only one can take home the coveted BotB Mash Paddle and it’s on you to decide the beer worthy enough to claim those rights. The winning beer will also return on tap as a seasonal draft from June to August.

Join us outside the Public House for an afternoon of delicious food, fire pits, games, live music by The Pheromones and of course, lots of beer!

Check out the beer list here: https://roundbarn.com/event/battle-of-the-brewers/

General admission is $10 and includes a free 5oz. tasting glass. Tasting tickets are $2 each.

Dine in at the Public House the day of the event and receive $5 off general admission.

Edwardsburg Vision Project

Edwardsburg Vision Project

Recently the Edwardsburg Chamber of Commerce, the Village of Edwardsburg and Ontwa Township partnered to apply for the Sustainable Built Environment Initiative (SBEI) project headed by Michigan State University School of Planning, Design and Construction (SPDC). The objectives of the SBEI are to work with communities to develop sustainable planning and design ideas for some of the issues Edwardsburg faces and offer some suggestions for place-making, aesthetic improvement, and help in developing a future vision for the community. To that end, three visioning sessions are held to get input from community members regarding what issues they see and what the community would like to see. We have enclosed some information on the SBEI. On January 18, 2019, we learned we had been accepted for the SBEI project.

The first visioning session will be held on Monday, February 25, 2019, at Our Lady of the Lake Social Hall. Doors will open at 5:30 pm and the session will begin at 6:00 pm and continue until 8:00 – 8:30 pm. Refreshments will be served, and the community is invited to participate.

As a property owner in Edwardsburg, we believe you would find the three sessions very interesting. We encourage you to attend and if you have any questions before the session, let us know. Please call Roseann Marchetti at 269 414 9592 or Roy Smothermon at 574 215 6527.

Please let us know if you are able to attend and of course, your guest or guests are welcome.

Sixth Annual Winter Wonderland Party

8:00 AM08:00

Sixth Annual Winter Wonderland Party

Our Sixth Annual Winter Wonderland Christmas Party is Saturday December 15th from 8:00 am - 10:00 am. The event will be in the Hope Methodist Church Fellowship Hall on Elkhart Road. Invitation to this Christmas Party is designed for families who may be struggling this time of year and in need of assistance thru the Edwardsburg Food Pantry. Parents can sign up for the party and are given an invitation when they come to receive their Thanksgiving baskets. This party is strictly for parents that come to the food pantry for assistance. Families that have children must sign up that they are coming so we have enough gifts for all the children and plenty to serve at the pancake and sausage breakfast which is generously offered by the Knights of Columbus.

We are looking for donations so please ask your family, friends, neighbors if they would like to donate for this special party. This party is “For the Kids”.

Each year it touches our volunteers’ hearts to watch the children with smiling faces come to the party. Just watching these children (and their parents) as they get to choose a gift, play games, do crafts and have a nice breakfast is heart warning to us all. This party is a combination of the Presbyterian Church, Lions Club, Fire Dept. Women's Auxiliary and many volunteers

If you or your business would like to donate for this very special Christmas Party for families in our community. Send you check made out to the Edwardsburg Presbyterian Church. Please write Winter Wonderland in the memo line.
