Recently the Edwardsburg Chamber of Commerce, the Village of Edwardsburg and Ontwa Township partnered to apply for the Sustainable Built Environment Initiative (SBEI) project headed by Michigan State University School of Planning, Design and Construction (SPDC). The objectives of the SBEI are to work with communities to develop sustainable planning and design ideas for some of the issues Edwardsburg faces and offer some suggestions for place-making, aesthetic improvement, and help in developing a future vision for the community. To that end, three visioning sessions are held to get input from community members regarding what issues they see and what the community would like to see. We have enclosed some information on the SBEI. On January 18, 2019, we learned we had been accepted for the SBEI project.
The first visioning session will be held on Monday, February 25, 2019, at Our Lady of the Lake Social Hall. Doors will open at 5:30 pm and the session will begin at 6:00 pm and continue until 8:00 – 8:30 pm. Refreshments will be served, and the community is invited to participate.
As a property owner in Edwardsburg, we believe you would find the three sessions very interesting. We encourage you to attend and if you have any questions before the session, let us know. Please call Roseann Marchetti at 269 414 9592 or Roy Smothermon at 574 215 6527.
Please let us know if you are able to attend and of course, your guest or guests are welcome.
